“Leadership Opportunity Creativity Uniqueness Subtlety”

What Is Locus?

In today’s competitive world many people strive towards the advancement in the field of information and technology. Despite of this, there is a constant lagging between the academic qualifications and the market demands. LOCUS is a student-initiated movement to help students bridge this gap.

LOCUS was started in the year 2003 with an aim to provide a platform for innovative ideas and creations. It focuses on providing a fertile ground for intelligent, inquisitive and innovative minds and also broadens the professional experience of the students in the technical field. It has always been providing the students the right track to showcase and hence enhance their talent.

LOCUS provides a common ground for both the students and the corporate sectors to interact and grow together. On the one hand the students are able to display their skills and on the other hand the corporate side businesses can access much needed skilled human resources from a pool of enthusiastic and hard working students. This helps to address the much talked-about issue of ‘Brain-Drain’ in the country.

How can one get involved with the LOCUS?

There are two ways people can involve with the Locus either as a volunteer or as a participant.

  • As a volunteer one can foster individual skills in different fields like technical and non technical-be it marketing, managing or public dealing working with respective coordinators and thus help to make the event a grand success.
  • As a participant one can be involved in different events (competitions or exhibitions) in order to hone one’s skill in related field and hence realise the motto of LOCUS as true.
  • Both ways, one can help develop a sense of labour, team work and competition in oneself and prepare for the real world

What LOCUS Does?

  • Provides platform for interaction and healthy competition among the creative minds with an aim to foster their skills in technical and associated non-technical fields.
  • Presents interactive seminars to clarify the participant’s views on the recent technical developments.
  • To develop professionalism, team spirit and communication skills among students of different colleges.
  • To familiarize people of different backgrounds and interests with latest developments and improvisations at the student’s level

In short, as our motto goes, to build quality in different aspects related to technical knowledge out of competition.
